Ok, the turkey rush was one thing. I understood that. I didn't understand the fighting by middle aged women over a Butterball, but I understood why I had to come in early and stay late. We have been busy.

But stuffing wars??

Whisky tango foxtrot?? (Heh, I've always wanted to say that..)

Apparently, two different stuffing making companies have been trying to outsell their competitor. Its mostly an advertising thing. But sending someone to our store to HIDE BOXES OF STUFFING? No, thats just creepy.

I swear, this guy came in, grabbed a bunch of stuffing from one of the companies, and HID IT BEHIND THE CEREAL AND/OR SCHOOL SUPPLIES!!

Security had to escort him out, and a bunch of us (and a few loyal customers) clapped.

Well, at least today was interesting, despite having to re-shelve hidden stuffing during my lunch break.

I was getting things ready so that I could leave early for this Halloween thing with Duo, and I saw something very unsetteling.

Since its Friday, alot of the school kids are wearing their costumes to their classes. I saw one young girl walking down the street wearing an old flight suit. Just like the one I used to wear when I was still fighting with OZ.

Great start to the day, huh?

Having two jobs isn't fun.

Once Noin left after our wonderful visit together (and it was a GREAT visit), everyone who needed something from the salvage yard came to me. And only me. Since I have no one else here to help out.

Add to that working as a check-out girl, and you get a very very busy Hilde.

Hey Duo, how did you get the grease out from underneath you fingernails? Because whatever it is I'm using or doing, it isn't working. At all. And apparently, my boss at the store is getting complaints from customers about me handling their food with 'dirty hands.'

This visit with Noin is a blast! I haven't had fun like this in a looong time. Having a friend to hang out with makes all the difference, even if its just for a short while. And we got the best fortunes!!

Things get dusty very fast.. [Sep. 27th, 2004|08:29 pm]
I have noticed this while fixing up the guest bedroom for Noin's visit.

Didn't I just go through and clean this room a couple of weeks ago? How did it get so dusty again? And it's making me sneeze like a maniac.

But I've also noticed that cleaning like this gets one's mind off of other things.

Suddenly, living out in space doesn't feel as safe as it used to.

Well, isn't this interesting.. [Sep. 11th, 2004|03:47 pm]
I've heard of these online journals before. A few people at work have them and gossip about it over lunch.

I never intended to get one for myself until I got a call from Duo the other night. Weeks go by and I don't hear anything from him, and then he calls me and we have one of the shortest conversations I can remember him ever having.

"Hi. How are you? Have you heard of this really cool website? Really? You should go there sometime. Yes! Make an account for yourself! Oh, hell, I've got to go! Time to work! Later!"

He should really work on his phone ettiquitte.

So I came, I made an account, and after two hours of searching, found his account. I even read up on his entries, and after that I have something to say to him.

Call More Often!!!!
